So here is the story , i have a close friend with no bike at the moment and i have a rolling chassis with registry not to mention too many parts for a TDR250.
Helping me putting all these parts to gether would teach my friend how to fix his motorcycle and how everything works
So here is how it started , a rolling chassis with complete registry , front end is a mess and rear end is pretty scraffed and the steel version
and to fit a better front end and an aluminium rear end (jap import)
END OF DAY 1
END OF DAY 2
Helping me putting all these parts to gether would teach my friend how to fix his motorcycle and how everything works
So here is how it started , a rolling chassis with complete registry , front end is a mess and rear end is pretty scraffed and the steel version
DAY 1
Strip it down to chassis and clean everything
The frame looks ok so after its cleaning we decided to spray it with a black spray can
and to fit a better front end and an aluminium rear end (jap import)
The rear end is a direct fit BUT you will need to have all spacers etc from the alloy one because they are different
The shock linkage and shock were in a terrible condition so we used the next we found and were in a better condition , everything cleaned and greased , i want to mention here that in this project has not been used a single new item , from bolt to fuse
Everything is used , clened and examined and then put back to gether from my experience (owned over 20 TDR's in the past)
So wheels are on
DAY 2
So this was the day that we should get the engine on , electrics etc and if we were lucky we might hear it revving
here is where we left it and already we put the light stay on and cleaned-sprayed the chambers
Lights are on and starting to put some electrics like gauges, ignition switch
What a mess
The air filter left to dry
Engine is cleaned and after testing it i think it will work just fine
The new owner cant gide his happiness as this pile of parts and metal transforms into a motorcycle especially with his help
Unfortunately the tank was all rusted and had holes , so we put this to the side until we find a good useable or even repairable tank to end this project with a day 3
TO BE CONTINUED...........
