Yamaha R1-Z 250 track bike

So many months ago i bought this basket case , a very rare (at least in Greece) Yamaha R1-Z 250

A lot of parts are missing so i decided to mod it a bit and make it my track bike apart from the bitchy TZ250 i have

The 1KT motor is a slow but trustworthy engine that can make my life easier (that is what living with TDRs taught me )

So first thing is to find a craddle stay for the engine and that came from Japamart , for those who have not tried it you should if you own a 30 year old japanese bike  .

Next was some modelling to see what plastics and tank iam going to use , unfortunately the original tanks is rusty with lots of holes

The 3MA tank seems to fit nicely though

All i needed to do was to fit a blank screw to the front of the frame and to make a new tank mount , with some dremel work that wasn't too difficult

After that the next problem was to find a suitable rear wheel that can use a descent 160 tire , the standard R1-Z swing arm is beautifull but to narrow and too heavy (damn steel ) so a rear wheel from a TZR 250 3XV was out of the question.
I had a ally Honda NSR 250 MC21 swingarm laying around so i gave that a try  and suprisingly fits
It only needed 2 bushings to the frame because the standard axle of The R1-z is too big

A little work to the suspension linkage and now i only need two new dogbones around 13-14 cm (if you have in mind a motorcycle with such measurments please post it here it would be a lot of help) and a new shock preferably from an Aprilia RS 250

So now i found a rear wheel i will try to see the chain allingment with a dummy motor and then i will put this is pieces so i can take away all this rust and respray it
